Elie Hirschfeld Competes in 33rd Consecutive Mighty Hamptons Triathlon

Elie Hirschfeld, New York real estate developer and premier senior athlete, concluded the summer of 2017 by competing in his 33rd consecutive Mighty Hamptons Triathlon. Notably – this is the second most consecutive years of participation any competitor has maintained in the history of the event.

“It’s with great pride that I have been able to compete against the best of the best in this sport and become part of the fabric of such an esteemed event,” Hirschfeld said. Elie Hirschfeld is passionate about consistent, life-long self-improvement through his professional pursuits as well as in the arenas of fitness and athletic arenas.

For this triathlon, athletes competed on Long Beach in Sag Harbor with a 1.5K swim in Noyac Bay, followed by an intense 23.8-mile bike tour of the Hamptons and completed the course with a 10K run through the streets of North Haven.

This year’s competition drew 600 competitors. 67-year-old Elie Hirschfeld completed the triathlon in three-hours and 15 minutes. “I was honored to have been a part of this event, while continuing to perform at such a high level after all these years of competition,” Hirschfeld said.

This year was particularly special for Elie Hirschfeld, not only because of his own personal ambitions for his own participation, but because it was the first time his six-year-old son, Jacob participated along side his father. Jacob took home an honorary medal for completing the final 100 yards of the run with his dad, and he plans to enter his first full youth competition next summer for kids seven-years and older.

Elie Hirschfeld is an inspiration in all he does – through his drive to compete and win in the demanding real estate and development markets in New York City, his insatiable appetite for athletic competition and his commitment to being an inspirational father in all of his varied pursuits.
