Elie Hirschfeld Sports Center

Welcome to the Elie Hirschfeld Sports Center

I, Elie Hirschfeld created this site to encourage others to pursue their personal sporting goals. After over 40 years of sport, including over 25 years as a competitive triathlete, the effort of training and racing continues to bring me deep personal satisfaction.

I decided to compete in my first triathlon at the age of 35. At the time, I was a casual jogger, occasional biker, and terrible swimmer. I began by taking a few swimming lessons and upping the intensity and frequency of my running and biking. That was all it took. I was hooked.

When I completed my first grueling race in 1985, I was briefly discouraged. “Let me tell you about my very last triathlon,” I told my friends. But by the age of 60, I had completed over 75 triathlons and 11 marathons. I even celebrated my 40th birthday by achieving my dream of competing in the Ironman World Championship Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii.

My love of sport has undoubtedly changed my life for the better, and I hope the experiences and resources I share here will help others enjoy sports. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
